Feb 13, 2009:
Dürkopp Adler is counting on IMB - Broad exhibition portfolio for all target groups
Dürkopp Adler defies the worldwide economic crisis and will show on the occasion of the IMB the widest range of all sewing technology manufacturers with technical solutions and innovations for all target groups. The IMB will be held in Cologne from April 21st to 24th, 2009.
„For our company the IMB in Cologne is the most important fair at all“, says Alfred Wadle,
spokesman of the Dürkopp Adler managing board. „For this reason we will present ourselves also this
year within a scope enabling us to show a wide spectrum of our products.“
Therefore the booth space will not be reduced compared to the IMB 2006. According to the
motto „Dürkopp Adler – Welcome to the World of Sewing Technology“ the products and solutions of the
traditional company located in Bielefeld will be presented on booth A010 in hall 6. On the 700 m²
large joint booth together with the Chinese parent company SGSB numerous exhibits will be shown.
Dürkopp Adler alone will exhibit 75 machines, i.e. 50 machines for the manufacture of garments and
25 for the production of home and car upholstery as well as technical textiles. Not less than 40
novelties will be presented to the public in Cologne for the first time.
Segment „Garment“ in the focus of automation
The segment „Garment“ on the IMB booth is entirely characterized by automation. „We know that
in times of crisis our customers attach great importance to an efficient, cost-saving and
nevertheless high-quality production“, Alfred Wadle explains. „With our current range of standard
machines, sewing automates and sewing units we meet the requirements of our customers to the
highest degree.“
During the four exhibition days Dürkopp Adler will present among others novelties for pocket
sewing, new applications for the manufacture of jeans as well as the current range of Beisler
sewing units for the automated trousers production. The newly developed special chainstitch
machines class 175, 176 and 179 setting new standards for the processing of difficult-to-feed
materials for outerwear will be another highlight.
The M-Type at the top of the product range for medium-heavy duty sewing
applications
As regards the applications for the production of home and car upholstery, technical textiles
and shoes Dürkopp Adler focuses on the presentation of the new models of the very successful M-Type
series. The new free arm machine class 669 of this series will be shown for the first time. Owing
to its design and its technical features this machine allows to realize innovative processing
possibilities for technical textiles, leather goods, leather clothing and fancies.
Machine solutions from the in-house Application Center
Solutions from the in-house Application Center will again be an integral part of Dürkopp
Adler’s presence at the IMB. Examples for individual solutions and custom-made designs can be found
in all segments. Whether large-area workpieces, difficult-to-process materials, special
requirements on quality and precision of the sewing results – the engineers and technicians of the
Dürkopp Adler Application Center will find the right solution for every problem.
Sustainability still relevant
Even in view of the challenging economic environment we are facing at present Dürkopp Adler
does not neglect the subject „sustainability“. Spokesman of the managing board Alfred Wadle: „
Energy efficiency is and will always be at the top of our agenda.“ This will be underlined above
all by the high-speed sewers of the 281 Premium series, a newly developed generation of standard
lockstitch sewing machines especially designed for the universal use in the apparel industry. The
predominant aspect when developing this machine was to reduce the energy consumption to an absolute
minimum. This could be realized among others by a drive directly integrated in the main shaft as
well as by a lot of further design improvements. The energy saving achieved amounts to up to 40
percent in comparison to similar models with direct drive.
